I'm going to start out my first blog with the best secret of all that the oil companies have been serving up to the public for 40 years and beyond! They don't sell the best motor oils available for your car because they only set the standards based on the engine metallurgy engineered by the auto manufacturers. Now if you're a mining company thats a different story and they have motor oils that will blow the doors off what you're using.

Think about it, the auto manufacturers must compete on a level playing field and they want to sell cars and trucks, so foreign to popular belief, they want their cars to wear out so you'll buy a new one every 12.6 years the latest average as of 2025. The oil companies formulate their motor oils based on Sequence Tests, whereas the highest standard is also the lowest. What does that mean you ask? On the wear test for instance you are allowed so many micrograms of wear and in the latest specification SQ it is 90 micrograms. Yes that is the maximum wear to get your motor oil approved. You get three chances at these extremely expensive tests controlled by the Amerlcan Petroleum Institute or API, International Standardization Committee (ILSAC). If you fail three times you have to perform all the sequence tests over and you talking millions of dollars, So what the formulators do is really pass the test the first time with say 50 micrograms of wear and then on the third time get it in the high 80's. Why? Because the additives are what limits the wear and you can only advertise that your motor oil" exceeds the highest standard", which is 90, which is also the lowest. Why use extra additives to keep it way under 90 when you cannot advertise your accomplishment. So why waste money! Simple answer they don't because it's all about profits and buying new cars every few years. The oil companies through their affiliates have a strangle hold on the motor oil market. So much so that they require licensing and you have to pay royalties to them. If you've watched the hit television show Landman you know how powerful the oil companies are. The testing is so expensive that there is only a handful of companies that produce the additive package to meet SQ. So you ask yourself, if that's true are all the motor oils basically the same? Now you're catching on but then millions are spent by marketing companies to convince you otherwise. So as long as it says SQ on the bottle its warranty approved and the auto manufacturers are happy. I've performed many oil analysis samples on new cars and they start at about 35 parts per million (ppm). Yep your car starts its deterioration process on the first oil change. So what our company has done is geared its products to those that don't want to trade off their cars or trucks every few years but want to make their engines last longer. Its possible as we have achieved a 20% increase in the life of the average car and have proven it through oil analysis by an independent lab and we even ran the motor oil warranty wear test against the leading motor oil in sales in the U.S. with a 17.87% increase overall with as much as 80% on exhaust lobes and other areas of the engine test.
